9/11 Memorial Project Groundbreaking Ceremony

On Friday, March 30, 2012 Palm Harbor Fire Rescue and Curlew Hills Memorial Gardens held a groundbreaking ceremony of the 9/11 Memorial to be built.  The ceremony was attended by many local dignitaries, both active and retired firefighters from throughout the county, and area citizens.  The project is being paid for by Curlew Hills and is utilizing no public funding.  The Memorial should be completed in time for the first ceremony being held on September 11, 2012.  For more information on the Memorial click on the link below.

Palm Harbor Fire Rescue will begin the planning and building phase for a 9/11 Memorial to honor the 343 firefighters that lost their lives in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The 911 Memorial will be constructed around a steel beam from the World Trade Center.
